Angels Indeed!

I had the privilege to photograph an event this past Friday evening for DFW Angels. Their mission is “to walk alongside children in the foster care system, as well as their caretakers, by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship.”

The event was a Casino Night held at Vouv in Dallas (https://vouvdallas.com/), and the theme was A Roaring Affair with a 20’s flapper theme. What fun! Some of the attendees really did a great job getting into the spirit of the theme. At times, I was feeling like I was transported back in time! They had a live auction and a silent auction as well as a raffle. Everyone had a great time gambling with their “funny money” which was obtained with real money that went to support the organization. It was inspiring as well as surprising listening to the statistics of children in the foster care system. It’s just not something you really think much about unless you have occasion to personally know a family that fosters children or know a child or children that have to enter the foster system. In each instance, whatever the reason, the children are the ones who are most impacted. And that’s where this organization comes into play – true to their mission statement they provide support to the children and their foster families.
